Intel will launch a new Pentium series based on Sandy Bridge platform. Named Gxxx series, the new Pentium models will have a low TDP, a very attractive price and will be used probably in computers which are designed for some office work. I’m just curious if Intel will launch a new series for Celeron. The last Celeron dual-core was amaizing. At least Celeron E1200 dual-core, which run at 1600MHz, can be easly overclocked at 2720MHz. Amaizing. Anyway, let’s see some things about new Pentium series. Pentium G620 is clocked at 2.6GHz, pobably will have Intel HD Graphics 2000 with a base clock of 850MHz and a dynamic clock of up to 1.1GHz (have to be tested), 3MB of shared L3 cache and a TDP of 65W. For a price at around $65, will be cheapest Pentium based on Sandy Bridge platform. Pentium G620T will have a lower speed, 2.2GHz, a lower base graphics clock of 650MHz and a TDP of 35W. The rest of specifications are the same, but Intel will sell this model at $70. Why is more expensive than G620, I don’t know. The other two models, Pentium G840 and Pentium G850 will run at 2.8GHz for Pentium G840 and 2.9GHz for Pentium G850. Probably the rest specifications will be the same Pentium G620, because Intel, like AMD, launched the same processor with multiple speed options. Also, Intel will launch a new Core i3 model. Named Core i3 – 2105, the new processor will have the same specifications with ths “old” Core i3 – 2100, but this will be Intel’s first none K-SKU and first Core i3 desktop CPU to feature Intel HD graphics 3000. The GPU frequency remains at the same speed as the Core i3-2100 with a base clock of 850MHz and a dynamic top frequency of 1.1GHz. The price will be a little higher because of integrated graphic and will be around $135.
